Dreamy Michigan Winter Styled Shoot
Do winter weddings get enough credit?
When Autumn with Autumn and Hive started talking to me about her vision for this styled shoot I was instantly hooked. Her desire to truly collaborate with others in the industry and create beautiful things had my attention.
The vision for “A Venue For All Seasons” was created.
We divvied up the seasons and I chose winter.
Funny that I chose winter - because to be frank I really hate winter and honestly have never had a winter wedding. But that didn’t stop me from starting to think up these dreamy, drapery, soft, modern, textural unique ideas. I really wanted to push the envelope on the idea of a styled shoot. I wanted to create something that hasn’t been done before.
I started creating mood boards.

Textural
Drapery
Moody
All words that kept coming to mind.
Once I established a vision I started thinking about how I could push the envelope with the table layout itself. I’m obsessed with the untraditional set up of tables for weddings and events.
I landed on a triangular set up with the thought of having some kind of structure in the middle of the tables as a focal point.
The focal point in the middle started out as a sculpture but soon moved to the idea of a ceiling installation. And with the beautiful exposed wooden beams at Venue19zero9 how could I not use them!
Next I started thinking of what vendors I wanted to collaborate with on this shoot. Once I had selected a handful of talented vendors I pitched the overall vision Autumn had come up with and then pitched my ideas on how we could come up with something beautiful and unique together. I showed my mood board but also wanted to give each vendor a bit of creative freedom within that vision as well.

SPECIAL OCCASIONS
Keri was such a pleasure to work with - her attention to detail and expertise in the industry is amazing. It was fun getting to chat while we set up the linens and worked on draping them just the right way.
EVENTS BY LUDEMAS
Allison and her team were so kind - she took my floral ideas and brought them to life more than I could imagine! They even got up on that ladder and placed everything just right.
THE PRINTED EVENT
Jill and Liz are SO intentional! They really put the thought and care into making everything fit together cohesively. From the menus with ribbon, scrolled place cards to the table numbers - everything was so well executed.

Hayley graciously let me use her beautiful candle holders to make all my candle dreams come true!
